  2. D2: Bogotá

    MONSERRATE TOUR

    Monserrate hill is located 3152 m above sea level in the Andean Cordillera and offers a stunning view of the city and valley. The Señor de Monserrate Basilica is neoclassical in its style and was built on top of the hill in 1925. It was later on transformed into a neocolonial style church. You will take a cable car to the top and later return to your hotel in the historical center.

    PALOQUEMAO MARKET TOUR

    Depart from your hotel to the Paloquemao produce market.

    You will discover a typical side of Colombia while strolling through the retail market, one of the largest in the country. Most of Bogota’s restaurants get their ingredients here, which makes it very lively. You will get to know so many different kinds of fruits and vegetables, some of which you'll probably have never even heard of!

    QUIRKY PEREIRA

    A day to discovering the surroundings of Pereira using means of transport that are typical of the region. After breakfast, we leave for Puerto Pereira and then continue by Jeep Willys through beautiful rural landscapes while contemplating the diversity of fauna and flora the region has to offer. Once we arrive at "La Vereda" train station, we discover our next means of transport, "la brujita." This is a strange assembly of a platform placed on rails and pulled by the rear wheel of a motorcycle. We will follow the Cauca River to see coffee, cocoa, and other tropical fruit plantations. We then cross the river with the help of the "Garrucha," a typical Tyrolean basket, to reach the Finca "La Playita" where a pineapple tasting awaits. We then take a short 20-minute walk to a beautiful waterfall. After a well-deserved lunch, we will go back to the hotel in the afternoon.

  4. D4: Pereira

    BOSQUE DE NIEBLA EL SILENCIO AND PIJAO

    After breakfast we leave in Willys from the Hotel to visit the El Silencio Mist Forest and discover its peaceful beauty. You will also have the opportunity to appreciate the Quindío wax palms in a true natural and pristine habitat, accompanied by the yellow-eared parrots that visit them and support them in their reproduction through a symbiosis of species. During the tour you will also cross a forest with oak trees more than 250 years old and have a picnic at Casa Rivera del Cacao, where you will see the Durango waterfall that adorns the place. Upon descending in the Willys to Pijao we will make a tour of a coffee growing municipality where we will taste coffee of the same variety and farm in three different processes (washed, honey and natural) to determine the influence of the process on the flavor of the coffee. A visit is then made to a specialty coffee shop to taste a Cold Brew and an espresso elaborated with the same coffee and to understand how the selected method of elaboration affects the flavor of the beverage. In this store you will find some of the best origin coffees in the country. Afterwards we will visit the El Patio herbarium experience, where we will learn about the health benefits offered by the different medicinal plants and taste a delicious fruit infusion. After this you will return to Casa Rivera del Cacao.

  5. D5: Pereira - Cartagena - La Boquilla

    CACAO TOUR - BEAN TO BAR: CASA RIVERA DEL CACAO

    Transformation of the cocoa bean, including a brief tour of the cocoa crops and the processes of bean valuation, roasting, bean fragmentation, shelling, second grinding to cocoa liquor, formulation for 60% chocolate fondue and assembly of the conching process. The activity includes lunch and the fondue made during the activity accompanied by fruit at the end of the afternoon.

    COFFEE TOUR - Finca San Alberto

    The tour begins at the premises with an introduction to the family. Then we visit the coffee farm, where we'll learn about the entire coffee production chain, from the seed to the roasting of the beans. On this tour, we'll have the opportunity to take part in the process (planting the seed, cleaning the fruit and grinding the coffee), before tasting this delicious local beverage.

  6. D6: La Boquilla

    Private transport from your Cartagena hotel to La Boquilla and back.

    LA BOQUILLA: FISHING TOUR

    For those who are passionate about adventure and local culture.

    You will depart early from your hotel to La Boquilla, a fishing village where an Afro-Cartagenian community lives. There, local fishermen will share their fishing techniques including how to catch crabs and how to throw nets. Then, you will discover the secrets of Caribbean cuisine and learn how to cook fish and crabs with coconut rice. Return to Cartagena at the beginning of the afternoon.

    WALKING TOUR OF CARTAGENA

    Follow the steps of the famous pirates and let yourself be surprised by the "Pearl of the Caribbean"; the exotic mixed heritage and the cultural richness of this city will not fail to fascinate you. This tour through the streets of the beautiful city of Cartagena will take you back to the colonial era, with its colorful houses and lively squares.

    Visit of the city on foot: you'll walk in the colonial district of San Diego and Santo Domingo passing through the Plaza de los Coches, the Plaza de la Aduana, the Parque Bolívar, the Gold Museum, the Plaza de Santa Teresa, the Palace of Inquisition, the famous walls surrounding the old city and the Vaults.

  8. D8: Tayrona Park - Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta

    MAMEY REGION

    The Lost City is located in the heart of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, the highest mountain in the world close to the sea. In this magical place, you will discover the past life of local Indigenous people with their wooden houses and stone structures, including terraces and stairways.

    Your tour begins at the oldest Colombian city, Santa Marta, at 8:30 a.m. in an air-conditioned van, to the Aguacatera sector, where you will change the van for a 4×4 that will take you to the mamey’s sector (Machete Pelao) where you will have lunch.

    After lunch, you will start a trek of 7.6 km. to the first camp (Adam’s hut, rural community), where you will spend the night. You will also make a stop at a crystalline water river to enjoy a refreshing dip.

    Some tourists finish the trek within 3 hours, others within 5, it all depends on their physical condition. At night, an indigenous guide will talk to you about the history and customs of his community. He will be able to also teach you some phrases in dumana language and give you information about the region.

  9. D9: Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta

    MUTANYI AND BURITACA RIVER

    You will start a trek of approximately 8 hours long, then, halfway through, you will visit the Mutanzhi indigenous community where you will be able to interact with its settlers. After this, you will then arrive at the third hut (Paraíso Teyuna hut, indigenous community). It is located 830 meters above sea level at the foot of Teizhuna (teyuna), Tayrona´s sacred city.

    During this tour, you will see a good deal of the flora and fauna of this gorgeous and sacred place, Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta.

    In the afternoon, you will go for a dip in the river and relax; later, at night, your guide will talk to you a little bit more about the Lost City and its sacred meaning for the indigenous people of the Sierra.

  10. D10: Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta

    THE LOST CITY

    After breakfast, you will leave at 7 a.m. for the Lost City. To get to the sacred city, you will climb 1200 steps, built by the ancient Tayronas. After approximately an hour, you will arrive at the city and go for a tour through several sacred places in that area.

    There, el Mamo (spiritual indigenous leader) will narrate sacred stories for you and share his wisdom.

    At 11 a.m. you will return to the third hut to have lunch. After eating, you will begin a 5 to 6 hour trek down to the second camp (Mumake hut, indigenous community), where you will spend the night.

  11. D11: Sierra Nevada of Santa Marta - El Mamey - Santa Marta

    MACHETE PELAO

    In the morning, you will go to El Mamey (Machete Pelao). Halfway there, you will visit a small natural waterfall to go for a refreshing dip.

    After arriving at El Mamey, you will have lunch there, after which a vehicle will pick you up and drive you to La Aguacatera’s sector. There you will take a van that will drive you back to Santa Marta. Your return arrival is approximately at 4:00 p.m.
