The tour starts in Reykjavík. We pick up at Reykjavík bus stops and most hotels in Reykjavík. The pickup starts at 8.30.
From Reykjavík we set the course to the Golden Circle one of the most popular routes in Iceland and well known for beautify its landscape. We will visit the UNESCO world heritage site Thingvellir National Park that is geologically significant where the tectonic plates remnant is visible as the park is rifted by the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Thingvellir national park is also historically important as it is where the Icelandic parliament was established in 930 AD.
From Thingvellir we travel to the Geysir geothermal area where the famous Strokkur geyser erupts every 5 to 10 minutes, shooting hot water up to 20 – 30 meters in the air.
We will visit Gullfoss waterfall one of Iceland most fantastic waterfall and after lunch we start to drive to the highlands with Landmannalaugar as our end destination for this day.
Landmannalaugar, a place that is well known for its colorful mountains, hot springs, and beautiful lava field. Landmannalaugar is in the Fjallabak Nature Reserve. It is a protected wilderness area that is known for its rugged and dramatic landscapes, geothermal features, colorful rhyolite mountains, and pristine wilderness.
In Landmannalaugar the group will set up camp for the night and cook dinner in our group canteen tent. The travelers will sleep in tents at Landmannalaugar.
Relaxing in the natural geothermal hot spring at Landmannalaugar is an option.

After breakfast we will begin our journey. The trekking starts crossing the lava field of
Laugahraun and then begins the ascent to Brennisteinsalda through a magical valley of
ICELAND: LAUGAVEGUR TREK
multicolored red, green, ocher, brown and fumarole fields. At the highest point of the
journey, our path continues on the upper part, crossing some streams until reaching
Hrafntinnusker, where a small shelter is located, near the Kaldaklof mountains. Many people
stay to sleep in this place, but we will continue our walk. The march continues through the
volcanic plateau bordering Mount Reykjafjöll until you reach Jökultungur. In this area it is
common to find snowfields and the terrain is characterized by the dark color of the rock
formations. On our way to Álftavatn, the landscape will change little by little, making the
water surges and the melting torrents that favor the growth of plants and flowers more

The day starts with breakfast in our canteen group tent and preparation of lunch and snack for the day hike. We begin the trek viewing the Lake Álftavatn. The lake lies in the heart of the Icelandic Highlands, surrounded by breathtaking volcanic landscapes. Lake Álftavatn is known for its stunning natural beauty, with crystal-clear waters reflecting the surrounding mountains and lava fields. We will enjoy different landscape rest of this day as we hike onto the Mælifellssandur with the black sand around us green hills in the background and good view on the magnificent glacier Mýrdalsjökull where the volcano Katla is resting. On this day we will have the opportunity to see Markarfjótsgljufur canyon.
We spent the night in Emstrur where we will set up our camp and have dinner in our group canteen tent.

After breakfast and preparation for the day we set of to Thórsmörk wallay. This part of the hike offers breathtaking views of volcanic landscapes, lush valleys, and glacier-carved mountains. Highlights include the rugged beauty of the Þórsmörk valley itself, with its lush birch forests and dramatic river crossings. Keep an eye out for unique geological features and opportunities to capture memorable photos.

Today we will start very early, at dawn. Leaving Þórsmörk we will cross the river Krossá
through a bridge to enter the wild valley of Goðalönd, located between two glaciers and
between rock buttresses upholstered with vegetation and flowers of all colors. Our path
continues to ascend towards the Fimmvörðuháls pass. On the way we will contemplate the
accumulated volcanic slag and lava in this sector after the eruption in 2010 of the
Eyjafjallajökull volcano. Once above, at an altitude of 1,020 meters, we will visit the craters of
red lava, Modi and Magni, where the heat of the subsoil can still be seen through the cracks
in the ground. Continuation to the refuge of Fimmvörðuháls, located at the top of the pass
that separates the glaciers of Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull. From here we will start the
descent down the south slope through the lava fields of Baldvinsskali (emergency shelter) to
go down through the valley of the Skogar river. Half way down the path crosses the stream
and from that point the river is encased in a spectacular canyon. We will descend parallel to
the torrent and contemplate the more than twenty waterfalls until we reach the last of them,
the beautiful waterfall of Skógafoss. Arrival to Skógar and return trip to Reykjavik.

Free time to explore the capital of Iceland on our own. Our hotel is very central. We can start
our walk in the harbour, visiting Harpa building, the Parliament, Tjörnin lake and take the lift
to the top of Hallgrimskirkja church. The guides will provide you a map with a city walk
suggestion. At the fixed time take the Flybus from Reykjavik city center to Keflavik airport to
board your flight.
