Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park - Danzhou Rainforest 5D

Biologists estimate that tropical rainforests contain about 50% of the world's terrestrial plant and animal species, yet they encompass only about 6% of the world's land area. Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park is located at the center of Hainan Province and is the largest contiguous tropical rainforest in the country. The national park is very rich in biodiversity, home to ~33% of China's reptile species, ~20% of its amphibian species, ~20% of its mammal species, and ~38% of its bird species. On our trip, we will learn about conservation and research projects in the national park from local rangers and scientists.
