We will take our children into this ancient city, which originated in the late 13th century, and which directly threatened the Pope's safety due to the fierce struggle between Roman religious and political factions. Therefore, with the support and arrangement of King Philip IV of France, in 1309 Pope Clement V decided to move from Rome to Avignon. Because of the Pope's move, the church made Avignon a place of worship. In 1995, the historic city of Avignon was listed as a World Heritage Site. By visiting this ancient city, children will have a deeper understanding of the Middle Ages in Europe.
