  1. D1: China - Ivalo - Inari

Today's theme: Welcome Dinner, Itinerary introduction

Arrive at Ivalo Airport and take the minibus to Inari's warm Arctic cabin for a welcome dinner. The restaurant is named after the traditional Sami Kammi, a simple overnight shelter built of birch and peat. The moment you cross the threshold, the flickering candles, the burning flames, the soft reindeer skins, the smell of meat in the air, this is a unique and rich kammi atmosphere, waiting for you at the wooden table is a delicious feast. Roast meat, salmon, salad, mashed potatoes, Lapland flapjacks... The tour leader will introduce us to the whole tour and give us a glimpse of the autumn days and auroras of Lapland.

Inari has countless stories about the Northern Lights. When Welshman Andy Keane was diagnosed with a neurological disorder many years ago, it made him re-examine the important things in his life. After watching a documentary about the Northern Lights, he decided to set out to find them. He arrived in 2009, and on his first night there, he saw the aurora. "I lay on the snow and stared at them dancing in the air," he recalls. In addition to the aurora, I can't forget the almost deafening silence." As a result, Andy became a professional aurora hunter and photographer, saying, "I've spent more than 5,000 hours under the Northern Lights so far." Nevertheless, every time I see the Northern Lights, I am fascinated by them." We will listen to the story of the aurora hunter and the aurora in the light of the cabin, and prepare for the upcoming trip to discover the autumn colors of the aurora in Lapland.

  2. D2: Inari

Today's theme: Kaiwo Forest Autumn scenery Hike; Aurora photography workshop to learn professional knowledge; Hunt the Aurora at night

After breakfast, we take a minibus to the Kevo Strict Nature Reserve, which has the longest gorge in Europe and retains a more pristine wilderness flavor. Finns adhere to the environmental concept of "nature belongs to nature, Caesar belongs to Caesar", and return the forest to nature to the greatest extent. Birds, flowers and glistening water are just the comfort of landscape gardens, and the charm of forest wilderness lies in the boundless and fresh beauty. In the short Rushka, the colorful forest fits in with heaven and earth, just like an oil painting painted by God. We are walking in this quiet forest, stopping on the hillside, listening to the wind in the wilderness, as a few strokes into the painting. Lunch is enjoyed by the forest fire with delicious reindeer sausage, Finnish specialty salad bread, and a cup of coffee brewed over the fire.

In the afternoon, we went to the Aurora Photography Workshop, where a professional aurora photographer will show us his aurora shots and introduce the practical knowledge and skills of photographing the aurora: How to see the aurora weather forecast, what equipment you need, when and where you can best see the aurora, how to photograph the aurora and prepare for six nights of aurora hunting. Then we will experience the legendary Finnish sauna and relax.

In the evening, it's time for us to put what we've learned into practice, bring cameras and aurora equipment, and use the skills we learned in the afternoon to pursue the northern lights, capture those gorgeous colors in the most visible fields, and encounter the aurora experience of a lifetime in the eternal and changing universe. We have also prepared delicious hot tea and coffee for everyone to warm up while waiting for the aurora.

  3. D3: Inari

Today's theme: Lake fishing; Reindeer farm close contact with reindeer; Homemade seafood dinner; Hunt the Aurora at night

In the morning, we come to the beautiful lake to enjoy a leisurely slow time, you can choose to fish in the lake, or quietly fishing and waiting for the fresh salmon to catch. On the shore of this leisurely lake, looking at the forest in the distance, the autumn colors of the forest will come into view, and the red pine and broad leaves of the three colors are reflected in the calm lake, they sadly bid farewell to the long summer, reminding people that the dark and cold winter is close at hand, and it is easy to immerse you in the infinite space of thought. Here, it is difficult to meet the bustling tourist crowd, only the quiet lake and mountain face to face with you.

In the afternoon, visit the nearby Reindeer Farm and get up close and personal with the reindeer. The traditional Sami people depend almost entirely on reindeer, and in the Sami language, there are as many as 400 words related to reindeer, and they even imagine heaven as a place full of reindeer. Then we learned from the locals how to make homemade Finnish specialties, and ended up with a sumptuous seafood dinner using our own salmon and learned specialties.

In the evening, we set out on a three-hour journey to track the aurora according to the auroral weather forecast. Many people associate polar regions and auroras with cold and snowy conditions, but in fact, the most likely seasons for auroras are spring and autumn. During these two seasons, the Sun's flares interact frequently with the Earth's magnetic field, resulting in colorful auroras.

  4. D4: Inari - Ivalo - Saariselka

Today's theme: Visit the Sami Museum; Animal rescue farm, experience autumn dog sledding; At night the mountaintop pursues the aurora

Today we returned to Ivalo City to visit the Sami Museum (Siida), and as the first group, we specially invited the director to be the guide for this VIP tour of the museum. When we opened the doors of the museum, the curator personally greeted us, gave us an introduction to the Sami people, showed us relevant videos, and then took us into the past and present lives of the Sami people. Lapland is known as the last pure land of Northern Europe, and the Sami people are known as the last indigenous people of Northern Europe. If you want to truly understand the Nordic national spirit, the Sami culture is a perfect entry point.

After lunch, we head to the local animal rescue farm to experience the fall version of "dog sledding", where owner Tiina will greet us with her beloved huskies, Arctic foxes and other Arctic animal friends, where we can get up close and personal with the animals and listen to Tiina's story of rescuing these animals from the fur factory.

In the evening come to Saariselka, where the Surrey Hills are the highest mountain range in the north and are not the focus of traditional tour groups. We go to the top of the Surrey Mountains hotel to stay, take you to experience the "open the door, the aurora is right in front of you", this is definitely the closest to the aurora, we carry out the aurora at the top of the tour. The vast expanse of wilderness, the fragrant forest, the clear air, the bright night sky, and the brilliant aurora are all things that should not be missed, and you may encounter the aurora experience of a lifetime in the glass house of Surrey Hills.

  5. D5: Saariselka - Rovaniemi

Today's theme: Peak Autumn Hiking; Visit Santa Claus and the post office; Hunt the Aurora at night

In the morning we were hiking at the top of the Surrey Hills, an unspoiled wilderness of virgin land, and the diversity of broadleaf trees and conifers, as well as the wild berries and moss on the ground, make up such vivid colors in the Rushka - green, brown, blue, red, yellow - that it would be a pity not to have them frozen in the camera.

In the afternoon, we headed to Rovaniemi, a small town on the border of the Arctic Circle, to visit the United Nations-certified Santa Village and take photos with Santa Claus, looking at the red, white-haired Santa Claus, and the laughter of childhood. We will choose a variety of stamps and greeting cards in the Santa Claus Post Office, all letters sent from here will be specially stamped with the Arctic Santa Claus Post Office postmark, here you can also book a letter signed by Santa Claus, on special days to send to friends and family hands, to bring them unexpected surprises.

At night, we set out in search of the aurora according to the auroral weather forecast. The Aurora borealis in autumn is a stunning combination of autumn colors and light reflected through still-frozen water. Stay outside on a new moon night, and the dim shadows weave the northern lights into the clouds, making it look like a fairytale scene. In northern Lapland, from September to March, the Northern Lights can be seen almost every other day on a clear night.

  6. D6: Rovaniemi - Kuusamo

Today's theme: Visit the Arctic Circle Science Museum; Kusamo watches bears; Experience a smoke sauna; Hunt the Aurora at night

After breakfast, we went to the Arktikum Science Museum, this time also invited the curator to personally greet you, he will tell us the truth of the birth of the aurora from a scientific point of view. The museum has to mention that the aurora experience room is carefully set up for visitors, visitors lie flat under the small canopy, see the stars twinkling in the dark, and then the blue and green aurora dancing in the night sky, like the charming and mysterious elves above the North Pole... Throughout the museum, the natural beauty and characteristic species of the Arctic are presented poetically and creatively.

In the afternoon we head to Kuusamo, where Lapland begins, a wild place surrounded by nature that is difficult to discover on a traditional trip. We will go to a fairly comfortable cabin hideaway in the forest to observe hungry brown bears coming to feed, and there is a good chance of catching a good close-up. Of course, you need not be afraid, because the bear will never come near the cabin and will not notice the presence of the photographer, because the human scent will be carried aloft through the chimney of the cabin and then blown away by the wind.

Then we will experience the authentic Finnish smoke sauna (smoke sauna), in the dark cabin, with the smell of natural tar, with fresh birch branches to clean the body, steam out of the whole day's worries and anxiety, if you want to experience the "fire and ice" characteristics, you can also jump from the warm cabin into the cold lake, This extreme warm and cold stimulation is a favorite of Finns, and the beauty of it is that after a few cycles, you can obviously feel a stronger heartbeat and firmer skin.

In the evening, we continue our journey in search of the Northern Lights. What causes the Northern Lights? According to the director of the Sami Museum, it was when the fox ran across the Arctic wilderness, its tail stirred up the snow on the ground and created a spark that lit up the night sky. The modern Finnish word "revontulet" (fox fire) is derived from this myth. The curator of the Science Museum explained: "The wind from the sun sends a large number of charged particles to the Earth. When these particles hit the Earth's atmosphere, they release energy in the form of the Northern Lights." Which cause do you prefer?

Today's theme: Autumn Color Walking in National Park; Experience the Finnish float; Hunt the Aurora at night

After breakfast, we went for a hike in Oulanka National Park to enjoy the stunning autumn scenery. In this 270 square kilometer national park there are magnificent mountains, river valleys, forests and turbulent waters. Countless wild animals and plants grow in this pure land of nature, many of them are endangered species, such as the brown bear known as the "king of the forest", the beautiful "lady shoes" orchid and so on. What is more valuable is the quiet and quiet here, there is no endless flow and red wine, only birds and flowers and streams jingling.

In the afternoon we will experience the Finnish float, wearing special gear prepared, you will be able to float on the water as if in the Dead Sea. Time becomes slow in the sound of running water, and the state of mind becomes calm from irritability, which is the meaning of being close to nature.

In the evening, we continue our aurora tour based on the aurora weather forecast. The frozen lake facing north is the perfect place to see this magnificent display of natural light. Each Northern Lights dance is different, but the most common is the shining green arch and light curtain. Looking up at the stars, clouds are the natural enemies of aurora chasers. As long as the night sky is cloudless and starlit, the chances of seeing the Northern Lights are good.
