Tangjiahe Nature Reserve is located in Qingchuan County, northeast foothills of the Min Mountains, at the northern edge of the Sichuan Basin, and the cascading peaks and deep valleys of the Minshan Mountain Range are formed between the folds of the earth's crust. From the lowlands to the highest peak of 3837 meters, the elevation increased by 2400 meters. In the five spectral sequences of montane evergreen broad-leaved forest, evergreen broad-leaved mixed forest with deciduous broad-leaved forest, mixed coniferous and broad-leaved forest, subalpine coniferous forest, alpine shrubland and meadow, rich geomorphological forms and abundant forest vegetation constitute an ecological home containing 72 species of national key protected animals, 145 species of birds, 430 species of vertebrates, 2422 species of plants and other kinds of insects and fish. Tangjiahe Nature Reserve has been listed as a national nature reserve since 1986, and foreign explorers and naturalists who come here call it "China's Yellowstone Park".
